Birthmarks are coloured marks on the skin that are present at birth or soon afterwards. Many disappear without treatment, but others can stay with us through to adult life.
For many, they are harmless and go unnoticed, but some may require treatment. Patients may also consider cosmetic treatment if the marks are affecting confidence and self-esteem.
There are two common birthmark types that we can treat at Alisha Louise Aesthetics:
Cafe-au-lait spots - these present in flat, light or dark patches anywhere on the body. They can be different shapes and sizes and are extremely common.
Port wine stains - these are red, purple or dark marks usually found on the face and neck. They usually affect one side of the body, but can affect both and can become darker and lumpier if not treated.
Our Lynton LUMINA®️ is perfect for this treatment. It releases short pulses of light to the discoloured area of skin, which are rapidly absorbed, destructing the cells and stimulating the growth of new skin tissue, creating a more even complexion.
