Our LUMINA® machine uses Dynamic Reflex Technology for comfortable, safe and effective hair removal on the face and different areas of the body. The light is absorbed by melanin* within the hair which is then converted into heat energy, damaging the hair follicle and preventing growth. The number of sessions required is dependent on a number of factors and varies between clients. This treatment is available for the face, back, under arms, legs and bikini line.

•Grey/white/red hair has no melanin so is not suitable for treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it hurt?

Treatment sensation varies but it can be described as the 'hot flick' of an elastic band. Most clients describe the discomfort as moderate and tolerable. The skin can feel quite warm after treatment, we may use our cryo cooler skin cooling device to minimise discomfort if necessary.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions required is dependent on a number of factors and varies between clients. We recommend a minimum course of 6 and up to 15 treatments to deliver the best results.

Who is suitable for treatment?

Most people are suitable but we always recommend a consultation and patch test beforehand. Grey/white/red hair has no melanin so is not recommended for treatment.

Are there any side effects?

The skin may be red immediately after treatment and the hair follicles may be swollen and bumpy but this usually subsides within a few hours. Unwanted reactions are rare but may include a small blister or temporary lightening or darkening of the skin.

How long does it last?

Once you have completed a course of treatment, you may not experience hair growth again. In some cases, a top-up session or a course of sessions may be required although this is usually determined during the initial course of treatment.
