Does it hurt?
It has been described as a hot pin prick or the flick of an elastic band, meaning it can be mildly uncomfortable but tolerable. We can use our cryo cooler skin cooling device to minimise discomfort if necessary.
A safe and reliable way to remove unwanted multi-coloured tattoos using laser light.
See FAQsOur LUMINA® machine is an effective, safe and reliable way to remove unwanted multi-coloured tattoos. It uses Q-Switched lasers that generate a high powered beam of laser light in an extremely short pulse. The pulse is absorbed by the tattoo's ink particles, breaking them down and enabling your natural immune defences to absorb the ink. It is a gradual fading process and requires a course of treatments.
Q-Switched lasers are considered by dermatologists to be the most effective, safe and reliable way to remove unwanted tattoos with consistent predictable results. Tattoos are made of two main types of ink: Indian ink for amateur tattoos or multi-coloured professional tattoos. Certain colours of ink are easier to treat i.e. black, dark blue, red, orange, brown colours in the tattoo respond best to treatment, but, yellow, purple, pastel colours and fleshy toned pigment can be more difficult.

This is dependent on several factors, including the size, age, colour and density of the tattoo. Professional tattoos can take up 15 treatments and need to be spaced 6-10 weeks apart. It can be a lengthy process but a course of treatments will achieve the best results.
The area is likely to feel tender for a few hours and can be red and swollen for up to 48 hours. Some tattoos will form a graze which must be left to heal naturally. Very rarely, the skin may become lighter or darker and a small blister may form.
All skin types are suitable for this treatment and we can treat all tattoo sizes and colours. We can also use this treatment for unwanted semi-permanent make-up and to fade old tattoos in preparation for a cover-up.
