Fungal nail infection

Fungal nail infections are common and usually develop when your feet are constantly warm and damp. Although they are not serious, they can take a long time to treat if left alone.

Fungus usually affects toenails, typically starting at the edges, spreading to the middle, causing discolouration and thickness in parts. The nail can become brittle and pieces can break off, and in some cases, the whole nail can lift, causing pain and swelling in the skin.

Our Lynton LUMINA®️ machine uses laser light, releasing a short pulse of light to destroy fungus in the nail. Light is absorbed by the water in the skin underneath and around the nail, creating heat. This heat helps to destroy the dermatophytes and eliminate the infection.
