The last decade has seen a huge increase of men and women seeking an alternative to anti ageing treatments. Anti wrinkle injections, commonly known as Botox™ have been used since it’s FDA approval in 2002 to improve the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles. It has been dubbed the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment. They’ve also been used medically to treat severe headaches, migraines and excessive underarm sweating.

Anti wrinkle injections are relatively painless, affordable and the effects can be seen within a few days with the results lasting up to several months depending on the individual.

Anti-Wrinkle injections can be used in combination with dermal fillers and chemical peels to further improve your results.

What is Botulinum Toxin Type A?

Botox™ is a trade name for the drug Botulinum Toxin Type A, which is produced by a bacterium called Clostridium Botulinum. It has been used safely in medicine since 1920 but has since had approval from the FDA in 2002 for cosmetic purposes.

Botulinum Toxin works by blocking nerve signals to the injected muscle, temporarily stopping the muscle from moving which stops the skin from contracting causing the wrinkles to either disappear or soften.  It also works on glands to stop the production of excessive sweating from certain areas. Typically lasts 3 months but results will vary from person to person. Some may only get 2 months whilst others may get 6 months out of their treatment but this is rare.

Profhilo® is an exclusive skin remodelling treatment designed for patients with skin problems such as volume loss and reduced elasticity. Profhilo® works by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin through the slow release of Hyaluronic Acid. Profhilo® can significantly improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and helps to increase hydration and firmness across the face giving a more youthful appearance.

As we turn 30, we start to lose a significant amount of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid which means we notice the signs of aging in regards to fine lines and wrinkles and slightly sagging skin tone and texture. We should start to consider preventing this from happening or reversing this process. Profhilo® is a wonderful treatment which can target these issues without adding volume or making you look puffy. Profhilo provides hydration in the areas treated leaving a more youthful complexion.

If you have problem skin such as acne, congestion, rosacea, pigmentation or general oily or dehydrated skin then chemical peels are the perfect treatment choice. You are one peel away from brighter, younger looking skin that not only looks but feels incredible too. Chemical peels have a reputation of being painful and a misconception that you have to remain in doors for 2 weeks. This is totally not the case! AlumierMD chemical peels have specific ingredients to combat different skin concerns and the science behind it is progressive treatment, not aggressive. In actual fact your skin will look and feel amazing the very same day.

To achieve the perfect combination and to get the most out of your skin treatments, it is vital that you use a robust regime at home otherwise all the hard work with the peels and not to mention the money spent will be wasted. It is important to choose the right ingredients, which are going to work for your skin condition. After an in depth skin analysis, Alisha will discuss a treatment plan and devise a bespoke, tailor made plan to get your skin in the best place possible.

Thread veins are small blood vessels that run close to the surface of the skin, which makes them more noticeable. They are commonly found on the cheeks, nose and chin. ThermaVein is a treatment that is safe, instant, and can be a long-term solution for the removal of unsightly facial veins.

ThermaVein uses thermocoagulation to warm up the protein in the blood, which is a process that seals off the vein walls causing the vein to disappear. It’s a preferred alternative to lasers as fewer treatments are required and it is considerably less painful.

It uses a small probe the size of a human hair, which is applied along the vein in question and several pulses will be delivered until the whole area is treated.

Thread veins, which are visible to the legs, can happen at any stage in our lives. They can be hereditary, stem from hormones or pregnancy. Microsclerotherapy is a technique we use to inject the veins affected with a special substance known as a sclerosant that causes the vein walls to swell. If small enough, the swelling will destroy the veins several weeks after treatment making them much less noticeable. It is important to note that you may need several sessions 4-6 weeks apart to reduce the appearance of the veins. Typically you can expect a 75% improvement of the visibility of the veins.

Prior to any Microsclerotherapy taking place, it is essential to have a venous duplex ultrasound scan to determine whether there are any underlying varicose veins. Varicose veins feed blood into the thread veins, which would mean the thread veins would continually re-appear. If the main cause of the problem isn’t treated, you can expect unsuccessful outcomes.

The ThermaVein machine, which is primarily used to treat thread veins on the face can also be used to treat skin tags, warts and milia. The heat from the ThermaVein, reduces the blood supply to the skin tag and warts. This will lead to the skin tag and wart dying and falling off completely! GP practices used to offer this service but are reluctant to do so as it is classed as a cosmetic procedure. Fortunately ThermaVein is here to help!

Milia are small white dots we sometimes get on our face or body, which are trapped dead skin cells. By using heat, the ThermaVein causes the milia to firm up and will eventually fall off and seal the underneath to prevent them coming back.
